Summer has arrived at Sandytots, bringing with it the season of sprinklers, sandpits, ice creams and, most importantly, plenty of fun!
We’ve got an exciting line-up of themed activity days planned throughout the summer holidays, giving the children even more opportunities to play, explore and make wonderful memories with their friends. Whether they’re dressing up for Disney Day, dancing at our disco or enjoying a Teddy Bear Picnic, each themed day has been planned to spark imagination, encourage creativity and support learning through play.
As always, dressing up is completely optional. Children are welcome to join in if they’d like to, but there’s absolutely no pressure. We simply want everyone to enjoy the fun in whatever way they’re most comfortable.

Our Summer Activity Days
Wednesday 22nd July – Disney Day
It’s time for a little Disney magic!
Whether your little one wants to come dressed as a princess, pirate, superhero or one of their favourite Disney characters, they’ll enjoy a day filled with imaginative play, music and themed activities.
Friday 31st July – Beach Party & Hawaiian Day
We’re bringing the beach to Sandytots!
Expect tropical fun, beach-themed games, summery crafts and plenty of opportunities for imaginative play. Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses, sun hats and bright colours are all welcome.
Tuesday 4th August – Neon & Bright Colours Day
The brighter, the better!
We’re celebrating colour with a fun-filled day of vibrant outfits, colourful activities and creative games. If your child has something bright in their wardrobe that wouldn’t mind being introduced to some messy play, we’d love them to wear it.
Thursday 13th August – Animal Day
Roar, chirp, hop or slither your way into nursery!
Children are invited to dress as their favourite animal while we explore wildlife through stories, crafts, role play and lots of imaginative adventures.
Monday 17th August – Pyjama Day & Teddy Bear Picnic
One of our favourite days of the year!
Children are welcome to come to nursery in their pyjamas and bring along a labelled teddy bear to enjoy a Teddy Bear Picnic with their friends. It’s always a cosy, relaxed day filled with stories, games and lots of smiles.
Friday 28th August – Disco Party
Get your dancing shoes ready!
We’ll be turning up the music for a nursery disco full of dancing, games and party fun.
Thursday 3rd September – Crazy Hair & Odd Socks Day
Our final themed day is all about celebrating individuality and having fun.
Whether it’s colourful hair, crazy hairstyles or a pair of wonderfully mismatched socks, we can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity.
Why Do We Hold Themed Days?
While themed days are lots of fun, they also provide valuable learning opportunities.
Taking part in imaginative play helps children:
- Develop confidence.
- Build friendships.
- Strengthen communication skills.
- Encourage creativity and self-expression.
- Create positive nursery memories.
Most importantly, these special days give children the chance to laugh, play and enjoy new experiences together.
