We love everything about the cosiness of autumn… orange everywhere, crunchy leaves beneath our feet, pumpkin-spiced everything and pulling on our wellies for some serious puddle jumping! 🍂🎃
Then there are those darker, cosy evenings, when the rain is pouring outside and there’s nothing better than snuggling up with your little one and sharing a favourite book. 📚
At Sandytots, we love making the most of everything this wonderful season has to offer – especially the excitement of spooky season! We’ve planned lots of autumn activities and special events for the children to enjoy before the Christmas magic begins.

Thursday 10th September - A Special Author Visit!
Local author Catherine Owen is joining us to read her book Shire & Mouse to the children. She’ll also be staying for some fun activities and teaching us all about shire horses!
What a treat! We can’t wait! 💛
Monday 14th September - Roald Dahl Story Day
Roald Dahl Story Day falls on Sunday 13th September, so we’ll be celebrating at Sandytots on Monday 14th September!
The children are invited to come dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character for a day filled with stories, imagination and lots of fun.
Who will your little one choose? Matilda, Willy Wonka, Fantastic Mr Fox, the BFG or perhaps George with his Marvellous Medicine? 🍫🦊
As always, dressing up is completely optional. 💛
Wednesday 14th October – Parents’ Evening
Our Parents’ Evening is a lovely opportunity to catch up with your child’s key worker and chat about their progress and development.
We’ll have 10-minute appointments available between 6:10pm and 8:00pm. Please speak to your child’s key worker to book a convenient time slot.
We really appreciate you letting us know if you’re unable to attend your appointment. It’s a long day for our team, and giving us notice means staff aren’t left waiting unnecessarily.
We look forward to catching up with you and sharing how your little one is getting on!
Wednesday 21st October – Autumn Stay & Play 🍂
Our Autumn Stay & Play takes place on Wednesday 21st October from 10am.
We’ll have lots of exciting autumn-themed activities for you to enjoy together with your little one, making the most of everything this wonderful season has to offer! 🍁🎃

Friday 30th October - Halloween party
Little ones booked in on this day can join our spook-tacular Halloween party – packed with themed activities, spooky songs, fun dances, and plenty of tasty party treats! Dress up is completely optional!
Tuesday 3rd November - Christmas photo day
If your child is attending nursery on this day, you don’t need to do anything; their photos will be taken throughout the day. If your child is not attending and you would like a photo taken, please come during one of the drop-in sessions: 8 AM – 9 AM or 1 PM – 2 PM.
If you would like any more information about our upcoming events, please speak to your little one’s key worker and they will be happy to help!
