Finding healthy snacks that your toddler will enjoy can be challenging, and carving out time to prepare homemade options is even tougher. However, DIY snacks are often more affordable and nutritious for your little one.
To make things easier, we’ve put together a list of quick, easy, and super-healthy snack ideas for toddlers!

Fruit Platter
A fruit platter is one of our all-time favorite snacks at Sandytots. Offering a colorful variety of fruits, it gives your child the freedom to explore different flavors and textures. This delightful assortment is perfect for encouraging even the pickiest eaters to try something new and discover fresh favorites.

Brown Rice Cakes with Low-Fat Cream Cheese and Cucumber
This tasty snack is perfect when you’re looking for something you can prepare that’s a little more filling. Rice cakes are such a versatile item to keep in your cupboard as you can try a variety of toppings and ingredients to see what your little one enjoys the most. We love rice cakes with low-fat cream cheese and cucumber because when combined these are great sources of calcium, vitamins and fibre.

Sliced Fruit with Yoghurt
Fruit and yogurt is such a diverse dish; it works for breakfast, dessert AND as the perfect little snack for your toddler! Full of tasty flavours from the fruit, the yogurt ties it all together and makes it a perfectly filling treat full of protein, calcium, vitamins, and probiotics. Did we also mention it’s delicious too?

Sandytots Meals
At Sandytots Nursery, we believe that every child deserves a healthy start in life. We recognise the importance of providing a positive influence on children’s knowledge, attitudes and behaviour towards food, drink and a healthy lifestyle.
We are a diverse and inclusive setting who support dietary needs for children who follow religious or cultural meal plans. We offer meat-free meals for vegetarian children as well as supporting and offering suitable meals for children with diagnosed allergies or intolerances.
Whilst eating, we ensure that every child is within sight and hearing of a Nursery Practitioner, and there will always be a member of staff in the room with a valid paediatric first aid certificate.
All of our meals are made with locally sourced fruit, meat and vegetables and we bake all of our own bread and cakes to ensure that all nutritional needs are met.
If you have any dietary concerns, please speak to your child’s key worker and they will be happy to help.
